On Friday night we went through this haunted attraction to kick off the season. We had high hopes for this one since they had the sponsorship of Lionsgate films and advertised itself as an “interactive” walk through. Unfortunately this was their opening night for this year and the haunt did not start selling tickets or open the doors on time (again it was opening night). Once we were inside we were greeted by a “Billy” on tri-cylce doll and a camera man (Souvenir Pictures were available for purchase at the end of the haunt). Once past the cameraman the haunt really began.
Once inside we were greeted with a scene re-created from the movie and from there we started the maze. Sporadically throughout the maze were random “kill” scenes from the different Saw movies. This presents the first problem with this haunt; there is no interactivity within the maze. You have your typical scare actors but nothing more than any home haunter would provide. This also brings me to the second issue – the scare actors all used the typical “Boo” or “Rawr” which does nothing to pull me into the maze. Even my wife who I use as good “control” (she still gets scared like most people while I tend not to) did not find these “Boos!” very scary. Nowhere in the maze are you presented with any interactivity. For a Saw maze I was expecting some level of “Choose: Live or Die” but found none.
Finally the last issue was the lighting in the maze was constantly too dark. Only on occasion were you able to see the scenes and the level of detail that was put into them. I am not one for brightly lit mazes but if you are going to show something off then you need some level of lighting. This also would make it very hard to follow if you have never seen any of the movies before.
Summary:
Pros:
- Details on the scenes from the movie
- “Breathing” Inflatable walls
- Length of maze (just under 9 min. to go through)
Cons:
- Lighting: too dark to really enjoy the kill scenes
- Actors: Never pulled you into the story; used lots of “Boos” and “Rawrs”
- Too Disney-Like walk through for an interactive maze
- Never pulled from your “comfort-zone”
Over all we give it our zombie rating of 1 out of 5 zombies.

I disagree!
I went on Sunday and all the kinks were worked out, everything was in its groove, and there was a very fun interactive scene in the beginning.
I’d recommend giving it another shot!
I’m also gonna guess that towards later October when Halloween comes around, new things will be involved.
Unfortunately our budget is a little tight this year and I may not make it back to the haunt but I will try. If I am able to make it out for a second run through I will update this review accordingly. Thanks for the info, it may have just been opening night bugs. Hopefully I will get a chance to update this review.
I went last night (Sat 11) and the line was really long, but that only made me more excited to go because I figured that meant it was really good. I waited about 45 min-1 hour to get in and it was definitely worth the wait! The best maze I’ve ever been to, hands down! I will definitely be going again, but I’ll probably get the front of the line ticket next time. Too bad you didn’t make it in for a second look. You missed out. For those who haven’t gone, it is a MUST SEE!!!
